Karina Nicole González
Karina Nicole González is the author of the Pura Belpré Author and Illustrator Honor Book, THE COQUÍES STILL SING. Her latest picture book, CHURRO STAND was selected by the NYPL as one of the best picture books of 2024 and received the Américas Honor Award distinction in 2025. Karina is also a bilingual speech-language pathologist (MS, CCC-SLP, BE) and works as a tele-therapist at an Adult Transition Program in Fresno, CA. Formerly, she worked as an SLP at a Title I public school in Brooklyn, NY for 7 years where her students’ boundless imaginations inspired this dream to write picture books of her own. She currently divides her time between Orlando, FL and Aguadilla, PR, where she spends her days immersed in nature and sunshine.
